This is a beautifully framed original antique print of Red Coral [Corallum rubrum] by Elizabeth Blackwell, published in 1757, with vibrant original hand-coloring. The print is framed in an elegant silver gilt finish hardwood frame with archival matting, mounting and ultra-clear UV-protective conservation glass. (scroll down for more photos)
This rare print is from Blackwell's famous work, A Curious Herbal, first published in 1737-39 and subsequently reissued in Germany in 1757 with re-engraved plates by Jacob Trew. The hand-coloring is authentic and still bright and clear for a print that is over 250 years old.
