Custom Framing

Whether you're a serious collector or you're looking for a beautiful print to hang in your home or office, it's important to properly frame and display your print. StudioBotanika offers a wide range of custom framing options to carefully protect and showcase your print using a clean, refined style which will complement almost any interior space.

We are not a production framing shop; instead we focus on high-quality handmade frames and luxurious, to-the-trade frames from Larson-Juhl and AMPF among others. We use only the finest materials to ensure the preservation of delicate prints, including thick, acid-free 8-ply mats and ultraviolet conservation glass.

Though more expensive than untreated glass, UV glass provides a superior layer of protection by blocking up to 97% of ultraviolet radiation. UV rays can prematurely fade and discolor paper, thereby shortening the lifespan of the print and potentially decreasing its value.

We typically mat prints to the plate mark (where possible) with a 3" to 3-1/2" border to the frame; the thick, beveled mat boards are a soft white or antique white, depending on the color of the paper. Prints are mounted using acid-free Japanese linen hinges, which do not harm the integrity of the print.

How to order prints with custom framing

As a value-added service for our customers, StudioBotanika coordinates all custom framing, and we package and ship the finished, framed print to you. We have samples of our most popular frame mouldings shown below; in addition, we can order most styles from Larson-Juhl and AMPF.

All custom framed print orders are handled on an individual basis. To place an order, please contact us and provide the following information:

1) The name of the print you'd like to have framed (so we can set it aside)

2) The style of frame (e.g., one of ours listed below, or from the AMPF or Larson-Juhl website)

3) Any special instructions or requests, along with your location so we can estimate shipping

We will get back to you within 24-48 hours with a quote for the custom framing work and shipping.

How long does it take to frame and ship?

All in-stock prints which are ordered with custom framing generally take 7-14 days to complete and ship; handmade frames may take up to 3-4 weeks. Framed prints are bubble-wrapped and securely packaged for safe shipment, and a signature is required for delivery. Please note that custom framed prints are not returnable as each one is custom framed to your specifications.

Handmade Tiger Maple Frame

One of the most dramatic and beautiful frames we offer, this handmade tiger maple frame will showcase your prints in sophisticated style. Available in additional colors including sablewood (dark brown-black), rosewood, umber (golden) and graphite (gray-black). You can select birdseye maple instead of tiger maple.
