Whether you are a serious collector or you're looking for a beautiful print to hang in your home or office, it's important to take care of your print by framing and displaying it properly. StudioBotanika offers a wide range of custom framing options to carefully protect and showcase your print, using a clean, refined style which will complement almost any interior space.

To offer the highest quality framing services, we have partnered with a noted New York City custom framing shop that specializes in conservation framing for delicate antique prints.

This partnership allows us to offer our customers beautiful hand-made frames, as well as high-quality hardwood frames from Larson-Juhl and AMPF among others. In order to ensure the longevity and preservation of our prints, we use only acid-free 8-ply mats and ultraviolet conservation glass.

Though more expensive than untreated glass, UV glass provides a superior layer of protection by blocking up to 97% of ultraviolet radiation. UV rays can prematurely fade and discolor delicate antique prints, thereby shortening the lifespan of the print and potentially decreasing its value. All prints are mounted using acid-free Japanese linen hinges (which do not harm the integrity of the print) or photo corners.

Prints are typically matted to the plate mark (where possible) with a 3" to 3-1/2" border to the frame, and the thick, beveled mat boards we use are a soft white color. Our goal is to showcase and protect your print with the best quality materials available.

How to order prints with Custom Framing

As a service for our customers, StudioBotanika coordinates all custom framing services and we package and ship the finished, framed print to you. We have samples of our most popular frame mouldings shown below; in addition, we can order virtually any style moulding from Larson-Juhl and AMPF.

All custom framed print orders are handled individually. To place an order, please contact us and provide the following information:

1) The name of the print you'd like to have framed (so we can set it aside)

2) The style of frame (e.g., one of ours listed below, or from the AMPF or Larson-Juhl website)

3) Any special instructions or requests, along with your location so we can estimate shipping costs

We will get back to you within 24-48 hours with a quote for the custom framing work and shipping.

How long does it take to frame and ship?

All in-stock prints which are ordered with custom framing generally take 7-14 business days to complete and ship (certain handmade frames can take 3-4 weeks to complete and ship). Framed prints are bubble-wrapped and securely packaged for safe shipment, and a signature is required for delivery. Please note that custom framed prints are not returnable as each one is custom framed to your specifications.

Handmade Tiger Maple Frame

One of the most dramatic and beautiful frames we offer, this handmade tiger maple frame will showcase your prints in sophisticated style. Please allow up to 3-4 weeks for shipment. Our complete framing package includes archival mounting, matting and ultra-clear UV conservation glass.

This frame is available in other colors, including sablewood (dark brown-black), rosewood, umber (golden) and graphite. You can also select birdseye maple instead of tiger maple.
